Our extension «Skype Button for Joomla» will help to add a beautiful button to communicate with a specified login through Skype. This module is suitable for everyone, especially if you want to organize support for website visitors via Skype.
Skype Button for Joomla 3, Joomla 4 and Joomla 5
Skype Button for Joomla – module for CMS Joomla 3, Joomla 4 and Joomla 5, with which you can add to the site button Skype. By clicking on the button, the visitor to the site will be prompted to start a chat with a login specified in the settings of the module via Skype. The module is easy to use and does not require advanced knowledge in its installation and configuration.
The module supports four variants of operation:
1) Button — adds a simple button to the site, clicking on which will open with the specified chat in the module settings login from Skype. The button can be static or floating.
2) Manager mode — will add a floating button, clicking on which will open a pop-up window with information about the manager. You can specify the manager’s name, photo and department. In the pop-up window there is a button «Start chat», which will open a chat with the Skype login specified in the module settings. In the «Manager» mode, three color design options are available: light, dark and custom. The «Custom» design will open additional settings that allow you to customize the color of all elements of the pop-up window.
3) Agents mode — will add a floating button, clicking on which will open a pop-up window with a list of managers. Each manager can be given a name, photo, department, and a login by which the manager can be reached via Skype. In the pop-up window of the «Agents» mode you can customize the title of the pop-up window, the description of the pop-up window. The «Agents» mode has three variants of color design of the pop-up window: light, dark and custom. Custom design will allow you to specify the color for all elements of the pop-up window.
4) Card mode — add a static block to the specified position of the site page. Clicking on the card will open a chat via Skype with the login specified in the settings. The block will show the name, department and welcome message of the operator. You can choose a graphic element: a photo of the operator or an icon with the messenger logo. In this mode there are three color variants of the card: light, dark and custom. Custom allows you to customize the color of each element in the card block.
A wide list of available settings will undoubtedly allow you to configure the Skype button to best suit the design of your site. You can set the size of the button, set the desired Skype login, specify the color of the button and the color of the icon. For a convenient location you can set the button location: on the right or on the left, set the indentation from the border of the visitor’s screen.
In order to attract the visitor’s attention to the button, it’s better to set a colored border and add animation. The extension has four animation options: 3 are applied to the button and one to the icon. The animation lets the icon spin on its Y-axis, and the animations let the button pulse, bounce, or move left and right.
To prevent your operators from being constantly overloaded with requests outside of working hours, the module allows you to specify the operator’s status. The operator status indicates the availability to accept the request. The module will automatically show the «Online» or «Offline» status. You only need to specify the working hours in the module settings. Enable the appropriate settings. The module will do the rest.
Additional features will help to analyze the interaction of site visitors and buttons. Integration with Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica services is supported by the module. When this feature is enabled, the module will send events to the Google Analytics service. Yandex Metrica will receive data in the targets.

Four types of Skype button
There are four types of Skype button available to choose from.
- Button — on the site page will be a simple button. It can be static or floating.
- Manager — there will be a floating button on the site page, clicking on which will open a pop-up window with information about the manager, a welcome message and a «Start chat» button.
- Agents — there will be a floating button on the site page, clicking on which will open a pop-up window with a list of available managers.
- Card — will add a static block with the operator card to the specified location.
Extensive list of available settings
A wide list of settings is available in the extension. You can customize the color of the button, the color of the icon, set the color border of the button, size, indentation and add animation. Undoubtedly it will allow you to adjust the Skype button to your site as conveniently as possible.
Operator statuses
The module has a system of operator statuses. When this option is enabled, in all modes it will be possible to specify the operator’s working hours, which will be tied to the server time. Site visitors will be able to contact you only during working hours. Just specify the working hours, and the module will do the rest for you.
Attractive widget animations
You can activate animations on the Skype button to attract the visitor’s attention. There are 4 types of animations available in the extension: 3 for the button, 1 for the icon. The button can pulse, jump and move sideways, and the icon can spin on its Y axis. To attract visitors’ attention on the button, use animations.
Integration with analytics
To analyze the interaction of site visitors with the buttons of the module, we implemented the ability to transmit events and goals. The module transmits events to Google Analytics and goals to Yandex Metrics.
