Plugin Configuration

Plugin settings are located in different places depending on your Joomla version. Please use the paths below to find the plugin:

  • Joomla 3: “Extensions” -> “Plugins”
  • Joomla 4/5/6: “System” -> “Manage” -> “Plugins”

In the list of modules, find “ System – IWS.BY Google Analytics“. Click on the name of the plugin and you will see a page with the available settings. Consider each field below.

License key

Type: Text field

Description: Enter the license key obtained when purchasing the module on the IWS.BY website. Without the key in this field, the plugin will not be able to access the update server and update automatically.

Example: IWSBY-111-111-111

Google Analytics code

Type: Text Area

Description: In this field, enter the Google Analytics code that you received when you registered your site with Google Analytics.

Example:

					<!-- Global site tag (gtag.js) - Google Analytics -->
<script async src="https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=G-XXXXXXXX"></script>
<script>
   window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || [];
   function gtag(){dataLayer.push(arguments);}
   gtag('js', new Date());

   gtag('config', 'G-XXXXXXXX');
</script>

Plugin Activation

To activate the plugin in Joomla CMS, you need to perform several steps:

  1. In the right-hand section of the plugin settings panel, locate the “Status” option.
  2. Switch its value to “Enabled“.
  3. Click the “Save” button. The settings will be saved, and the plugin will be enabled on your site.

Plugin update error

If you encounter an error while updating the plugin in the Joomla admin panel, this section of the instructions is for you. Typically, an update error looks like this:

Joomla extension update error

This error occurs in several cases, all of which are related to the plugin’s license key.

1) You have not entered a license key in the plugin settings.

Go to the plugin settings and check whether the “License Key” field has been filled in. Without a license key, updates cannot be downloaded. Sometimes, even if you have entered the license key, Joomla may not save it correctly. To ensure proper saving, after entering the license key in the plugin settings, click the “Save” button, followed by the “Save & Close” button.

2) Your license key has expired.

To check the expiration date of your license key, go to https://iws.by/en/my-account/view-license-keys. In the list of license keys, find the key of your plugin and in the “Valid until” column check its relevance. If the license key has expired, it is not possible to get updates. To resolve this issue: place a new order and get a current license key.

3) The license key is not valid on your current site.

Our update system works in such a way that, upon the first request to the update server, the license key becomes permanently associated with the requesting website. If you attempt to use the same license key on multiple websites, updates will only be available for one of them. If you need updates for multiple sites, please purchase additional license keys on our website. Websites without valid license keys will not be able to receive updates.

Attention! If you have changed the address of the site and can not download updates, write to us at support@iws.by with the new address of the site, we will update the data on our update server and within 24 hours you will be able to receive updates.
