Installing the module
Log in to your site’s control panel.
In the menu of the admin panel, at the top of the site navigate to the Extension Installation Manager by «Extensions» – «Manage» – «Install».
You will see a page with an extension installation manager.
Click on the green button, the explorer will open, in which you must select the archive, obtained by downloading from IWS.BY for Joomla 3.
After successful installation, a green notification will appear in the Extension Installation Manager.
Obtaining a Vkontakte application identifier
Before you start configuring the module, you need to get the ID of the application for which the widget will be displayed.
Go to the «Games» section of the Vkontakte social network.
Use the search on the page that opens to find the application you need.
Click on the image of the found application and pay attention to the address bar in your browser. It will contain the numeric identifier of the application in the social network Vkontakte.
The number 5327745 is the unique numeric identifier of the Vkontakte application. Write it down.
Configuring the module
Go to the list of installed modules in the admin panel by the path «Extensions» – «Modules». In the list, find the module «IWS.BY Widget APP VK». Click on it and you will see a page with the available module settings. Consider each field below.
Field «License key»
In this field, enter the license key obtained when downloading the module from the IWS.BY website. Without the key in this field, the module will not be able to access the update server and automatically update.
Option «Enable OpenAPI VK?»
This option is responsible for connecting the public API of the Vkontakte social network to your site. If you already have the public Vkontakte API connected, then select «No» in the option. Without the public API, widgets from the Vkontakte social network will not work on your site.
Field «ID Application VK»
In the field, enter the numeric identifier of the application in the Vkontakte social network, the information about which you want to display in the widget. How to find the application ID is described on the page above, in the section «Obtaining a Vkontakte application identifier».
This option is responsible for the type of information displayed on the application widget. There are a total of three options for displaying information. Let’s look at each one.
1. Card – the widget will display the application logo, name, category, number of participants and the «Play» button. This version of the widget looks like this:
2. Members – the widget will display the application logo, name, category, number of participants, photos of participants and the «Play» button. This version of the widget will look like this:
3. Button – the widget will display only the «Play» button. This version of the widget looks very simple:
Next, let’s describe the two fields that appear depending on the selected value in the «View» option.
The field is responsible for the width of the widget. It is specified as a number in pixels. This field is available only for the widget with the «Members» view.
Option «Button height»
The option is responsible for the height of the button in pixels. You can only select the value, you can’t enter your own. This option becomes available if the widget view is selected «Button».
The module is activated as usual. To do this, you need to:
1. Select the desired position in the template, where the widget should be displayed in the «Position» option, on the right side of the module settings page.
2. Below will be the «Status» option. Toggle the value in the option to «Published».
3. The final step is to bind the module to the pages on the site.
At the top above the settings on the module page, switch to the «Menu assignment» tab.
On the open tab, there will be one field «Module assignment».
Select the pages on which you want the module to be displayed in the module. In the example, «On all pages» is selected – the module will be displayed on all pages, on the selected position.
Click the «Save» button to save all the settings and display the module on your site.
These are all the settings for the module «Widget application Vkontakte for Joomla 3 and 4».
